The Mechanical Engineering Designer/Drafter II designs simple and complex products, assists engineers and Designer-Drafter I peers in creating engineering models and drawings, maintains engineering file systems including WIKA’s PDM system, and conducts engineering tests and some prototyping activities.

Designer Drafter II

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain CAD models and dimensional drawings
  • Maintain engineering file systems (network shares, Sharepoint business records, ProFile PDM, etc.) and ensures data integrity and consistency.
  • SME for ECN creation and processing as it relates to Engineering
  • SME for Engineering-related Axapta activities (including training of other team members)
  • Process Engineering Drawing Requests (EDRs) Promptly support other departments, focus factories, and customers in regard to engineering drawings, databases, and other Engineering-related tools.
  • SME for Engineering CAD systems (including training of team members)
  • Prepare 2D and 3D product visualizations in PDF, Powerpoint, or other format as requested by team members

 

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Drafting Associates degree (or equivalent); B.S in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of working experience in engineering drafting, design engineering, manufacturing engineering required
  • Expert level of Creo and AutoCAD experience required (SolidWorks experience also a plus)
  • Good working knowledge of Creo Simulate (SolidWorks Simulation and Ansys also a plus)
  • Intermediate-to-expert level of experience with Microsoft Office products (including Microsoft Project)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Conversational German language skills preferred
