Contracts Engineer - Level Division

Job description

  • Take ownership of the complete contracting process from the point of order through to the receipt of final payment. This will involve co-ordinating activity with colleagues, customers and other departments where necessary.

  • The role requires the individual to work professionally and collaboratively between all departments, Sales, Production, Engineering, documentation and the workshop to achieve the first confirmed shipping date.

  • Be responsible for liaising between sub suppliers & customers regarding adaptation, submission & approval of job specific procedures such as NDT, painting specifications, etc.

  • Expediting the customer will be paramount, ensuring our documentation and TQs are returned in a timely fashion.

  • Utilise Microsoft Project to manage all contracts assigned in a professional manner.

  • Be the 1st point of contact for inspection visits by clients and 3rd parties.

  • Coordinate project kick off meetings and regular update/action meetings with customers and colleagues to achieve the required results, some of which may be off-site at clients premises or the WIKA Redhill office.

  • Maximise margin growth opportunities right through the contracting process i.e. customer change requests.

  • Be aware of both individual and departmental expected standards, objectives, targets and the commitments of the WIKA Sales Charter and ensure they are maintained at all times. The main objective is to deliver a professional project on time to the customer, and the companies expectation.

  • Investigate customer claims, complaints and facilitate satisfactory resolution.

  • To support General Sales when requested by your line manager.

  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement process, including Kaizen activities & commitment to the WIKA Sales Charter.

  • Keep clear records of activities and calls using the Document Handling; CRM and Activities within Axapta or alternatively within the departments shared folder.

  • Work with the General Manager to develop the companies AVL requirements.

  • Work with the Operations Manager on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

Requested Profile

  • Ideally have a degree level qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate solid experience in project management.

  • Good competent knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Must have a pro-active, can-do attitude.

  • Must be able to offer a good degree of flexibility where workload permits.

  • Literate with effective communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate confidently with both external and internal customers and suppliers.

  • Must be organised and skilled in time management.

  • Must be enthusiastic and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to effectively prioritise and manage workloads.

  • Be able to prioritise & work on own initiative in a confident & professional manner.

  • Must be able to work effectively to deadlines & schedules which at times may be challenging.

Reporting to the Contracts Engineer- Level Division

The Contracts Engineer is primarily responsible for managing and delivering our complex project orders to the expectation of the customer and the company. The Contracts Engineer is expected to build positive relationships both internally and externally and be responsible for the efficient, effective, handling of projects from the sales handover through to completion of the final documentation package and invoicing. The above requirements need to be in accordance with the WIKA Sales Charter & other Company procedures.

The Contracts Engineer will be proactive in developing all communication channels to deliver projects, promote the complete WIKA capability and obtain market and competitor information to assist the Level team as a whole.
